When your demon visits you in your dream

The first dream I would like to share here is one of the scariest I have ever had.
It is the kind of dream that you wake up from in terror because it is raw, it is vivid, and you have to keep thinking about it.
I was still a beginner at working with dreams and it took me a while to really decipher this message. I paint dreams that scare me or make collages out of them and meditate on the content that appears to me. Or I also very often help myself with active imagination. There are more techniques and I will describe some of them in other texts.

After this dream, I painted only part of the content, as I felt it. I wanted to paint only the main thing, the feeling, the horror of meeting a basilisk, a pest, a demon. The surrounding scene is different, but it does not detract from the drama. The other images that follow the first image were created spontaneously, not immediately, but in a process, over the course of several days and weeks. That is how it led me.

Why the first dream I share is with a demon is not a coincidence. I have a lot of interesting dreams that I could start with.
However, the same thing that I describe in Art Therapy section, in the Theme of Death and Rebirth happened to me. It happened that 11 years after I had the dream, I wrote a text inspired by certain events. The text resonates with the theme of my dream and the images I present here.

I just want to add that I transcribe my dreams from my diaries, just as I wrote them down when they happened, I do not censor them and I only comment them in comments.

The Dream

I dreamed of a basilisk, he was small, black, disheveled and ugly. He lived at our house... he disturbed me so much that I decided to strangle him. I choked him for quite a while, it was really uncomfortable. I left him lying there and hoped he was gone and went to another room. After a while he crept up on me. It was clear that not only was he gone, but that I had something terrible to look forward to.
I woke up in horror.

The Text

That deep sadness and heaviness that is passed down from generation to generation.
Then the insight, respect and self-respect as you discover that you and your children are warriors who decided to heal and overcome old wounds.
To stand face to face with the demons that keep asking to have a say in your family, again and again.
Demons are relentless and strong, persistent and tough.
When your mother and your father pretend not to see them,
or when they see them and point the finger at you or at each other,
If they do not admit their presence and do not confront the demons of the family,
then you drown, suffocate and bear so much pain,
as much you collected from them and as much they collected from their parents and their parents' parents.
Only when you face all the demons that belong to you and your family,
when you open your eyes and you do not back down,
or if you would back down then you stand again and again,
only then will you regain your strength.
You will break the curse.
This is the hero's journey.
You may be ordinary on the outside and it may even seem that life is not going well for you.
But strength grows within and you will rise again.
Your success lies in your heart.
